Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) got their maiden win in a clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after defeating them by six wickets in the seventh match at Mumbai’s Brabourne stadium. Chennai based franchise posted a target of 211 runs and LSG got to the target for four in 19.3 overs.
The star performer in the match was Evin Lewis scored 55 off 23 and wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton De Kock top-scored for LSG with a knock of 61 runs off 45 balls. This is the first time CSK have lost the first two matches of an IPL season.
CSK got going with the brilliant display of Robin Uthappa, who scored a half-century, followed by Shivam Dube (49) and Moeen Ali (35). LSG also put up a tough fight as the skipper KL Rahul (40) and Quinton de Kock (61) gave a bright start to the franchise.
The partnership of Evin Lewis (55*) and Ayush Badoni grabbed 25 runs from Shivam Dube's over to steer the game away from CSK. Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan and Andrew Tye scalped two wickets each for LSG.
Orange Cap Race:
In a massive victory, two players from Lucknow based franchise, Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni have made it to the top-five in the batting chart. Robin Uthappa, who scored 50 runs as he opened for CSK, has gone up to the third position and RCB’s Faf du Plessis continues to lead the chart.

Purple Cap Race:
CSK all-rounder Dwayne Bravo on Thursday surpassed Lasith Malinga to become the IPL's highest wicket-taker during his team's match against LSG. Bravo dismissed Deepak Hooda in the 18th over of the innings to break Malinga’s bowler's record.
Sri-Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga remains at the top of the pile, followed by Umesh Yadav (4) in the second spot. Bravo holds the third spot (4), followed by Akash Deep and Kuldeep Yadav.
