Asian Games 2018: Saurabh Chaudhary, 16-year-old shooter won India’s first shooting gold

It’s the third gold for India in Asian Games 2018 and the person who brought gold for the country is just 16 years. Yes, Saurabh Chaudhary, the 16-year-old shooter has bagged gold in Men’s 10m Air pistol event today.

Saurabh has finished on a total of 240.7 in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol final, ahead of Japan’s Tomoyuki Matsuda, who is a two time World Champion, he shot 239.7 and bag silver. While India’s Abhishek Verma won bronze for the country with a shot 219.3.

Meanwhile, till now India has won seven gold medals in Asian Games 2018.

It’s a proud moment for the country as the 16-year-old Chaudhary topped the game after qualifying the round with a score of 586. While Abhishek Verma qualified and ranked 6th position with a score of 580.

However, India has already won three medals in shooting at the Asian Games 2018. As Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar opened the account with a bronze in 10m Air Rifle Team. While Deepak Kumar won silver in 10m Air Rifle. Also, 18-year-old Lakshay bagged silver medal in Men’s Trap.

Well, it’s must be a lucky year for Saurabh Chaudhary as he becomes the youngest player to set a new world record on the way to winning a gold medal in the ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany.
