West Bengal: Shocking! Clash broke out during Urdu teachers' hiring; two students dead and several injured
A tragic incident took place in West Bengal’s North Dinajpur district where two students lost their lives after a clash broke out during the recruitment of Urdu teachers.
Yes, two students from Darivit High School in Islampur died and several were left injured when the clash broke out between them and police over the hiring of Urdu teachers.
During the clash, many police personnel were also injured. Earlier, three teachers have been selected for Urdu subject and one for Sanskrit, ABP reports.
Some students were protested after the recruitment of teachers and demanded that there should be a recruitment for other subjects as well.
On Friday, the newly recruited teachers were brought to school under Police Protection. However, the clash between police and students become more serious and the situation went out of control.
Students turned so violent that they started throwing stones at police and in return, Police fired tear gas and also rubber bullets to disperse the protesting students.
During the clash, two students lost their lives. One of the students killed in the protest was believed to be a student activist of ABVP Rajesh Sarkar.

Because of this intense situation in the district, the BJP’s district unit has called a 12-hour shutdown in Islampur area on Friday to protest against the killing and the "lawless situation" in North Dinajpur.
The district TMC leadership accused the BJP of fomenting trouble in the area, an allegation rejected by the latter.
