Weather: Rainfall, thunderstorms likely for next three days; check full forecast
Rainfall activity, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds, is expected in most parts of the country in the next three days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on April 29.
The weather department stated that heavy showers are very likely in isolated parts of North-West, Central, Southern, and Eastern India in the next 3 days.
Western Disturbance
- The IMD has recorded a western disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan and neighbourhood in middle tropospheric level along with a cyclonic circulation that lies over southwest Arabian sea and adjoining Lakshadweep area to South Chhattisgarh across north Karnataka and Telangana as lower tropospheric level.

- A fresh western disturbance is expected to affect North India from the night of May 1.
Weather Forecast and Warnings
- Light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms is expected in parts of Western Himalaya, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh for the next five days.
- Scattered rainfall along with thunderstorm and gusty winds is expected in parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for the next five days.
- Scattered rainfall along with thunderstorm and gusty winds is also predicted in parts of Telengana, Andhra Pradesh, tamil nadu, Karnataka, and kerala for the next five days.
- Hailstorm is expected in parts of odisha, jharkhand, west Bengal, and sikki on April 29, and April 30.
- Heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, On April during April 30 And May 2. Same weather conditions are expected to be seen in Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, and Tripura on May 1-2.
Maximum Temperature
The maximum temperature was below 40 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country in the last 24 hours, and it is expected to be below normal to near normal during the next 5 days.
Heatwave Condition and Warnings
There are no heatwave conditions likely over any part of India during the next 5 days.
