Watch: PM Modi's security breach, moment convoy got stuck on flyover
Two days following a major security failure that left Prime Minister Narendra Modi stranded on a Punjab highway for about 20 minutes, a video displays a bunch of BJP workers standing just a few distance away from the PM’s vehicle.
The video which is widely being shared on the internet shows the group, waving a BJP flag, clamoring slogans of ‘BJP Zindabad’ while standing extremely close to the Prime Minister's vehicle on the other side of the highway.
The vehicle then moves away, with the Special Protection Group personnel forming a shield.
The Prime Minister was on his way to a rally in Ferozepur when his convoy was stranded in the middle of a flyover with protesting farmers obstructing the route.
The group of BJP workers, heading to the same rally, were also stuck as traffic came to a stop. When they realised that the PM's convoy was also on the flyover, they tried to get closer to his car.
This is just another classic example of a massive breach in the PM Modi's security that day.
Just ahead of the Punjab polls, the incident has intensified political fall out between the ruling BJP at the Centre and Punjab's ruling Congress.
Both centre and the state governments have announced separate investigations.
The BJP has accused the state government and police of breaching security protocol despite many notice about his travel details.
The state government has alleged that there was a last-minute change in plan in which it had no role. PM Modi was to fly to the rally in a chopper but due to bad weather, he decided to take the road.
The top court, hearing a plea calling for a probe into the matter, directed that PM Modi's travel details be preserved and that both the inquiries be ceased till Monday.
