Watch massive firecracker explosion during Jagannath Yatra in Noida, 1 dead
A person died in an explosion that occurred in a stockpile of firecrackers in the Greater Noida area on February 27. The incident took place in the Dadri area when some people were bursting firecrackers during the Jagannath Yatra.
The firecrackers, which were loaded on an e-rickshaw, caught fire after a lit firecracker dropped on them during the Yatra. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed at a nearby shop on the street.
According to police, two people sustained severe injuries in the accident and were rushed to a nearby hospital. One of the injured succumbed to his injuries today morning.
In the video clip, the e-rickshaw laden with firecrackers can be seen standing on a busy road. Suddenly, an explosion occurs, triggering panic among the people. Firecrackers are seen flying randomly, leaving people in shock.

ADCP Greater Noida said that some people were bursting firecrackers during the Jagannath Shobha Yatra. One of the cracker fell on the firecracker box that triggered the explosion.
"On 27.02.2023, the Jagannath Shobha Yatra was traditionally taking place in Dadri town under Dadri police station area. Some people were bursting firecrackers on the occasion. One of the firecrackers fell on the e-rickshaw moving forward, in which other fireworks were kept, due to which other all of them were set on fire," ADCP tweeted.
Police said that Salman was lighting the fireworks and Pappu, the driver of the e-rickshaw were injured in the accident. “Today, on 28.02.2023, the above injured Salman has died during treatment at Delhi Pant Hospital,” police said.
Further investigation is underway.
