Watch: Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia mobbed by supporters outside his residence; create ruckus amid demands
Amidst the announcement of the chief ministers in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, now supporters are making ruckus outside Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia’s residence in Delhi.
Many of the Congress workers and supporters gathered outside Scindia’s residence this afternoon and started raising slogans for him being made the chief of the Pradesh Congress Committee, the post which is currently held by the Chief Minister designate Kamal Nath.
The decision for the chief ministerial post was taken by the high command, after the MLA’s had already voted upon their choices. It was clear in MP that the old guard and 9 times member of parliament, Kamal Nath will helm the post but it wasn’t clear whether Jyotiraditya Scindia will get the post of deputy CM.
But, as AK Antony announced the decision of the high command, steered by president Rahul Gandhi, it was evident that Scindia is not getting the CM or the deputy CM post. And, now his supporters and some party workers are demanding that he should be made the chief of the Congress party in Madhya Pradesh.
After the Madhya Pradesh election results were announced, wherein a tight battle between the Congress and the BJP was seen, as in 29 seats, the BJP and Congress won and lost with a margin of less than 1000 votes.
And, the anti-incumbency, farm distress remained a contributing factor in the winning of Congress but the towering figure of Shivraj Singh Chouhan overshadowed a big margin win and eventually, the Congress party had to align with Mayawati’s BSP to form the government.
