Uttarakhand: 6 pilgrims returning from Adi Kailash killed after car falls into Pithoragarh gorge

Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand: A devastating incident occurred when a car plunged into a gorge in Pithoragarh district, claiming the lives of six individuals. The tragic event unfolded as they returned from a pilgrimage to Adi Kailash on the Dharchula-Gunji road.

Rescue Efforts Delayed by Rain
The State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and local police initiated rescue operations the day after the accident. However, their efforts were hampered by heavy rainfall, forcing them to halt the mission temporarily.

Recovery of the Deceased
After a challenging day, the SDRF succeeded in retrieving all six bodies, each belonging to an occupant of the ill-fated vehicle.
