Tragic End for UPSC Aspirant: Harassment by police allegedly pushes youth to suicide
Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: In a heart-wrenching incident, a young UPSC aspirant identified as Ashish Kumar took his own life in Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh.
Ashish, who had been preparing for the UPSC examination, left behind a suicide note where he accused the officers of subjecting him to unwarranted torment and falsely implicating him in a case.
The deceased's family members complained, prompting the transfer of the three accused involved to the police lines. While speaking to ANI, DCP West, Rahul Raj emphasized that the suicide note would be examined in detail.
The case of Ashish Kumar's suicide was brought to the attention of Rahimabad police station. Alongside the suicide note submitted by the family, the names of the three implicated officers from Rahimabad police station were disclosed.
The responsibility to examine the suicide note and investigate the case has been entrusted to ACP Malihabad, as stated by the DCP. He further confirmed that the three policemen had been transferred to the police lines.
