Tillu Tajpuria Murder: Delhi court remands all accused to 14 days custody

In the latest development of the Tillu Tajpuriya gangster murder case, the Patiala House Court remanded all six accused prisoners to 14 days of custody on May 15.

Furthermore, the court ordered the jail authorities to ensure the safety and security of the accused.

The next hearing, scheduled for May 29, will be conducted via video conferencing.

On May 12, the court extended the police remand of the six accused, who were arrested in connection with the murder of jailed gangster Tajpuriya inside Tihar Jail, for three days, which concluded today.

On the same day, the accused - Deepak, Yogesh, Rajesh Bawania, Riyaz, Chavanni, and Ataul Rehman - were taken to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Rohini as part of the investigation. The FSL collected photograph and video samples of the accused for comparison with the CCTV footage from Tihar Jail.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Snigdha Sarvaria granted four days of police custody to Deepak Dabas alias Teetar, Rajesh Bawana, Yogesh Tunda, and Ariyaz Khan to the Special Cell of Delhi Police on May 8. These two accused were arrested on May 9 and were remanded in police custody.

Gangster Tillu Tajpuriya was brutally stabbed to death on May 2 inside Tihar Jail by members of the rival Jitendra Gogi gang. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the prison.

"Lapses were on the jail administration's end, but yes, to avoid such incidents, we should have kept members of both gangs in separate jails," said HGS Dhaliwal in an exclusive interview with ANI.

Tajpuriya was allegedly stabbed to death in retaliation for the killing of Jitender alias Gogi, who was shot dead in September 2021 inside Rohini Court by members of Tillu's gang. The gang members, disguised as lawyers, entered the courtroom and shot Gogi dead in Rohini.
