Thunderstorm Alert! Delhi-NCR might get hit by a fresh storm with heavy rainfall in the next two hours
A possibility of rain accompanied by thunderstorm may strike in the next two hours at some places in the NCR and adjacent to the national capital, Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of thunderstorms strike in Faridabad, Ballabgarh, Khurja, Greater Noida and Bulandshahr in the next two hours.
Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Meteorological Department director Mangal Singh said that there is the possibility of rains between May 6 and 8 in many parts of the state. Alerts for thunderstorm and strong winds have been issued on May 7 and 8 for Shimla, Solan, Hamirpur, Mandi, Kangra and Una districts.
According to the Meteorological Department, mild rainfall and typhoon can occur in Punjab in the next 48 to 72 hours. On the other hand, the intensity of rain and thunderstorm activity is likely to rise between May 7 to May 8. During this period, it is also possible that a powerful wind with the thunderstorm hit different places.
Referring to an advice from the Indian Meteorological Department, a spokesperson of the Home Ministry said that there could be rain accompanied by typhoons at some places of NCR, including Delhi and Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Khurja, Greater Noida and Bulandshahr.
Due to the dust storm last week, 124 people died in the northern and western states and more than 300 were injured. At least 150 animals have also been killed. Crores of rupees crops were destroyed and several properties were also damaged.
