Telangana Election 2018: TRS promises farm-loan waiver, enhanced pension in manifesto
Vowing to improve the condition of farmers in the state, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in its manifesto for the Telangana Assembly elections promised to waive farm loan of upto Rs 1 lakh.
The TRS, in its polls manifesto, underlined the party's commitment for the upliftment of the lower caste while saying that they will continue to fight for the implementation of 33 percent reservation to Backward Classes and 33 percent reservation to women in legislatures.
TRS chief and state caretaker chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, who released the manifesto during Praja Ashirwad public meeting in Hyderabad, said that efforts are on to transform Hyderabad as a "global city".
In its manifesto, the TRS has promised to enhance all type of Aasara pensions from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 2016. For differently abled persons it will be enhanced from Rs. 1500 to Rs. 3016. The age eligibility for old age pension will be reduced from 65 to 57 years completed, promised the party.
The party also promised to provide unemployment allowance of Rs. 3016 to the people and also a financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 6 lakh for construction of house for poor people who own a plot. It also and to provide unemployment allowance of Rs 3016 to the people.
According to the party manifesto, food processing units across the state and large-scale health camps across the state will be organised for the development and welfare of the people of the state.
The manifesto also claimed that if the TRS comes to power in the state again, it would also enhance the retirement age of the government employees from 58 to 61 years.
Underlining the development work done by the party in the past four-and-a-half-year, TRS chief Rao said that his government gave 1,28,000 houses to the poor living in small shelters in the Hyderabad city. He further said that after the TRS came to power in the state they eradicated the electricity problem.
He further said that for the safety and security of women, they also came up with the SHE Teams in the state, while adding that they also ensured law and order in the state during their rule.
The Legislative Assembly election in Telangana is scheduled to be held on December 7, while counting of votes will take place on December 11.
