Stalking case: Haryana BJP chief assures his son will 'fully cooperate' in probe
Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Subhash Barala on 9 August said his son Vikas will cooperate with the Chandigarh Police into the investigation in the stalking case of Varnika Kundu.
"We respect the law. I asked Vikas to cooperate and he has left for Chandigarh to join the probe. He will definitely cooperate in the probe," Barala told ANI.
Earlier, Haryana BJP chief had said that Varnika Kundu, who was allegedly stalked and harassed by his son, was like her daughter and justice will be done in the matter.
"Investigation is being done in Varnika Kundu case. Whatever action is required it will be taken against Vikas in this case. BJP bats for daughter's right and Varnika Kundu is like my daughter. Neither I nor BJP is pressuring anyone in this matter," he had told ANI.
Earlier in the day, Tajender Singh Luthra, Director General of Police (DGP) said that both the accused in the Chandigarh stalking case had refused to give their blood and urine sample for the investigation.
A summon-notice was also issued to Vikas by the Chandigarh Police which was allegedly refused by the former.
The Chandigarh Police asked Vikas to appear before the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector-26 Police Station at 11 a.m. 'sharp' on Wednesday.
