SSC Constable GD Exam: CAPF examination to be conducted in 13 regional languages

The Ministry of Home Affairs announced on April 15 that the Constable General Duty (GD) Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) examination will now be held in 13 regional languages along with Hindi and English from January 1, 2024.

The decision was made to promote regional languages and encourage local youth to participate in the CAPF.

The Constable (GD) exam question paper will be set in languages such as Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri and Konkani in addition to Hindi and English.

This move provides aspirants with the opportunity to take the exam in their mother tongue and improve their chances of selection.

The state and union territory governments are also expected to organise campaigns to encourage youths to participate in the competitive exam.

Notably, The Staff Selection Commission conducts the Constable GD exam, which sees the participation of lakhs of youths from across the country.
