'Soldiers were killed in Pulwama for votes,' claims Samajwadi Party's Ram Gopal Yadav
Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the political rhetoric has taken a toll over the democratic set-up and now Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav has made a controversial remark by claiming that soldiers were killed in Pulwama ‘for votes.’
General Secretary of SP, Ram Gopal Yadav, has said that due to politics over the armed forces, the battalion had to lose soldiers and as election is arriving, if their party or Opposition comes to power, he will hold an inquiry into it.
Yadav claimed that “Paramilitary forces dukhi hain sarkar se, jawan maar diye gaye vote ke liye, checking nahi thi Jammu-Srinagar ke beech mein, jawano ko simple buses main bhej diya,ye sazish thi, abhi nahi kehna chahta, jab sarkar badlegi, iski jaanch hogi, tab bade-bade log phasenge.”
In a deadly attack in Pulwama last month, the CRPF lost 40 personnel, after a car laden with 100-150 kgs of RDX collided with a bus of CRPF convoy on the Jammu-Kashmir national highway. The responsibility of the attack was later on claimed by the Pakistan based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad.
Post the attack, India had conducted ‘non-military pre-emptive’ aerial strike across LoC in Balakot. But, the politicization of the issue has become murkier over the period of time. The Opposition leaders have demanded evidence of the strike and now, Ram Gopal Yadav has made startling claim that soldiers lost their lives due to votes.
In the run up to the General Elections, the real issues of unemployment, inflation, education, health has been over shadowed by militarized nationalism.
