Sidhu Moosewala murder: Mastermind Goldy Brar appears in video, claims he is not arrested by US police
A video of Sidhu Moosewala murder mastermind Goldy Brar has surfaced where he claimed that he was not arrested and nor was he in the US, days after Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claimed that the gangster has been detained in California.
Punjab Chief Minister on 2nd December had confirmed that gangster Goldy Brar had been detained by the California police and that he would "definitely be brought to India". He will be in the custody of the Punjab Police "very soon", CM Mann had told reporters.
"The CM without even waiting for the endorsement of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs went ahead with the statement. He wanted to impress the voters that they got hold of killer of Sidhu Moose Wala," Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa said.
Gangster Goldy Brar in an interview on YouTube turned down the detention claims. However, the authenticity of the interview could not be ascertained.
In the video, the person claiming to be Goldy Brar said that he had not been detained and also he was not in the US. In the audio clip of the interview, he could be heard contradicting Mann's claims about his arrest.
Sidhu Moosewala, was shot dead in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29. Goldy Brar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the singer's murder. A red corner notice, which allows the arrest and detention of a fugitive abroad, was issued against him.
