Sidelined Upendra Kushwaha, RLSP Chief resigns as Union Minister; won't attend BJP alliance meet
After creating a huge roar of not attending Bhartiya Janta Party's alliance meet, Sidelined RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha resigns as Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development, reported news Agency ANI. Early Monday morning, Kushwaha confirmed that he won't participate in a meeting of the ruling BJP and its allies in Delhi.
As per reports, it was said, Upendra Kushwaha may announce his exit from the BJP-led alliance in the afternoon, triggering a realignment in Bihar. Kushwaha's resignation is a blow to the NDA a day before the winter session of parliament begins.
"Kushwaha is likely to announce his parting of ways with the BJP today," a senior RLSP leader said.
As Upendra Kushwaha was sidelined by NDA and was upset over seat-sharing for the 2019 Lok Sabah Polls, in which CM Nitish Kumar seems to have struck a better deal than other allies in Bihar.
As per reports, Kushwaha was said that he won't be given more than seats to contest in the Lok Sabha election. Bihar sends 40 MPs to the Lok Sabha. Reports also suggest that Upendra Kushwaha's RLSP is likely to join hands with the opposition, which includes Lalu Prasad's RJD and the Congress.
