Shocking! Kannada actor Duniya Vijay and his friends arrested for assaulting gym trainer

A shocking news has come to light from Karnataka where a Kannada cine star ‘Duniya’ Vijay has been arrested along with his three friends on the charge of assault on Sunday. Reportedly, he and his three accomplices have been arrested for assaulting a gym trainer, said Police.

However, police have taken the 44-year-old actor and his friends in custody after the complaint filed by the victim’s relative Kitti. The reason behind the assault was the conflict between them.

The accused have been on the 14-day judicial custody till 6th October by the metropolitan court after the police have produced the actor along with his friends before the judge at his residence in the city.

"The accused have been lodged in the city central jail, as they have been remanded to judicial custody for investigating the assault charge," Assistant Police Commissioner (West) Ravi Shankar said.

As per the complaint lodged by the victim, the accused have forcibly taken the trainer Maruti Gowda outside the event hall on Saturday night and assaulted him in a moving car before allowing him to go.

Reportedly, the accused and the victim were visited to watch a bodybuilding event at the Ambedkar Bhavan in the city on Saturday night where they argued on some issue. Vijay and his friends took the trainer into the car and assaulted him over an hour while driving around the city, said Katti in a complaint.

While Vijay denied the allegations and said that it was his fans who attacked the latter for abusing him during the fracas at the hall.

Meanwhile, the injured victim has been admitted to a private hospital and police is doing an investigation into the matter.
