Shiv Sena hits out at BJP over economic slump

The Shiv Sena, which is in tussle with its ally Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the Chief Ministerial post in Maharashtra, on Monday attacked the saffron party over the economic sag in the country.

A day after Diwali, the Shiv Sena in its mouthpiece Saamana noted about how economic slump has been having an effect on farmers and conning people.

The Shiv Sena stated that although the monsoons are over, it is still raining heavily at places inducing heavy loses to farmers.

"Today, our country is facing economic slowdown. In the market, there is no excitement at all. Due to slowdown, the business is less by 30 to 40 percent," the Shiv Sena said.

The editorial Saamana also mooted about Demonetisation and the GST and stated, "Demonetisation and GST is causing more problems to the country's economy. It was said that it will improve our economy but it is now having a reverse effect."

The Shiv Sena also went on to underline the issue of job losses across the natio and said, "Factories and industries are being shut down. Employment is not there. People are losing jobs."

Hitting out at the goverment’s move of withdrawing money from the RBI reserves, the Shiv Sena stated, "Banks are getting bankrupt. Peoples' pockets are empty so is the government's Tijori [locker]. Therefore, reserved money from the RBI was taken out."

Shiv Sena also stated, "There is silence in the Indian market. Through online shopping, the country's money is going outside."

"Why so much silence on Diwali?" the Shiv Sena asked.

Soon after the Maharashtra assembly election results, the Shiv Sena said that BJP and Amit Shah will have to give in writing that the CM’s seat will be shared on a 50-50 basis, only then will they form the government.

Both Congress and NCP have put out tentative proposal that they are ready to form the government with Shiv Sena if they break off the alliance with BJP.

In the 288 member assembly, the BJP has won 105 seats, while Shiv Sena has won 56. the NCP secured 54 seats and the Congress triumphed in 44 seats.
