Samjhauta Train Blast: NIA court to pronounce verdict in 2007 explosion case today

A special National Investigation Agency court in Panchkula is set to pronounce the verdict in the Samjhauta train blast case of 2007 which claimed the lives of 68 people wherein 10 were Indians.

As per the proceedings until now, the prime accused Aseemanand is out on bail and the other three accused have been announced as offenders. Another prime accused, as per the findings of the NIA, Sunil Joshi, who was the mastermind of the attack was killed in 2007 Dewas of Madhya Pradesh.

Earlier, Aseemanand was acquited in twin balst case of Mecca Masjid and Ajmer Dargah. As per the reports of the NIA, Aseemanand had been the main support of the ideological behind the conspiracy and was the financial advisor for the overall operation. He even provided shelter to the co-accused, as claimed by the National Investigative Agency.

Around eight judges have heard the Samjhauta blast case until now and most recently, Special CBI Judge Jagdeep Singh was hearing the matter since August 2018, who had ruled against the Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in the rape and murder case in Panchkula.
