A pet dog came as an angel for a 14-year-old girl in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar who being allegedly raped by two men. The incident took place in Sagar when a 14-year-old minor girl was being allegedly raped by two men and her pet dog came in to rescue her. The dog bit one of the accused who was attempting to rape her. This led the girl a space to raise an alarm and forced the accused to flee the spot.

The accused were later arrested, who was identified as the habitual offenders. Vipin Tamrakar, inspector-in-charge of the Moti Nagar police station, said that the incident happened in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday (August 18-19) but the victim did not report the matter till Sunday fearing a backlash from the accused.

Tamrakar said that on the night of the incident, the minor girl was asked by her grandmother to get hay from the adjoining barn so that it could be burned to drive out mosquitoes. Then she was forcibly picked up by Reshu Ahirwar and his friend Puneet from the barn. Both the accused were inebriated state and took her to a secluded place near her house.

The accused Puneet covered minor's mouth to prevent her from shouting for help while Reshu forced himself on her. It was the moment when the girl's pet dog to rescue her and bit Puneet on his leg forcing him to release his grip of the girl and then she raised alarm.

On Sunday when the victim reported the matter, the accused were arrested and booked for rape under the POCSO Act. A medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape. The accused were recently booked for alcohol smuggling and are out on bail.
