Sabarimala Temple row: 'Rip women entering Sabarimala temple in two,' says actor and BJP supporter Kollam Thulasi

A massive controversy strikes out the Supreme Court verdict on Sabarimala temple over lifting the ban and allowing women of all age in the Lord Ayye Appa temple. Recently, a South actor Kollam Thulasi stepped into controversy and said women enter the Sabarimala temple should be ripped in two.

This horrifying comment on women entering in the temple was made by the Bharatiya Janata Party supporter Kollam Thulasi at an NDA rally in Kollam, wasn't the end of it.

“Women coming to #Sabarimala temple should be ripped in half,” he said.

Adding more flames to his controversial statement Thulasi said, one half should be sent to Delhi and other to CM's office. He said, “one half should be sent to Delhi and the other half should be thrown to Chief Minister's office in Thiruvananthapuram.”

Earlier, The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected an urgent hearing on a plea seeking a review on the verdict allowing entry of women of all ages in Kerala’s Sabarimala temple. The apex court said that “review petitions will come up for hearing in due course”.

Earlier, a five-Judge Constitution Bench headed by the then Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, by a 4:1 verdict, said that the ban on women in menstruating age group whose presence in the temple is considered as 'impure', violated their fundamental rights. After which the apex court lifted the ban and open the door of Lord Ayyappa temple for women of all ages.
