Riteish Deshmukh politely hits back to Piyush Goyal for attacking his father Vilas Rao Deshmukh
Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh has finally responded to the comment made by Union minister Piyush Goyal on his father Vilasrao Deshmukh. Piyush Goyal in one of his interaction attacked Vilasrao Deshmukh and said "I am from Mumbai. You might remember the 26/11 terror attack. The then Congress government was weak and could not do anything. The then Chief Minister (Vilasrao Deshmukh) had brought a film producer outside Oberoi Hotel while shooting and bombing was going on inside. CM was concerned about getting his child a film role.”
Now Riteish Deshmukh who is a known face in Bollywood and also has been appreciated for his humbleness and hits back to Piyush Goyal for targetting his father. Riteish Deshmukh without taking Piyush Goyal's name replied a strong message and clarification on the whole controversy.
Riteish Deshmukh tweeted, "Honourable Minister, you have every right to question a CM but it is wrong to accuse someone who is not here to defend himself. It is true that I had visited Taj/Oberoi hotel but untrue that I was there while the shooting and bombing was happening as you claimed. It is true that I had accompanied my father but untrue that he was trying to get me a role in a film. He never ever spoke to a director or a producer to cast me in a film and I take pride in that,”
He also added that you have a right to question an Ex-CM but not the person who is not alive to respond. He writes, A bit late, 7 yrs ago – He would have replied to you,”
Let us tell you that Vilas Rao Deshmukh was the CM of Maharashtra when the brutal attack happened on Mumbai Hotel Taj, Oberoi. The attack took place on 26th November and Vilas Rao Deshmukh resigned from CM post on 4th December 2008.
