Rajasthan Weather: Fatehpur freezes at -0.7 degree Celsius; Orange alert persists; full forecast here

Entire North India continued to reel under severe cold wave conditions on January 4. Severe cold wave conditions continued in several districts of Rajasthan, with the minimum temperature in Fatehpur dropping below 0 degrees Celsius.

Fatehpur has become the coldest place in the desert state, with a minimum temperature of -0.7 degree Celsius. Churu is in second place with -0.5 degrees Celsius.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum daytime temperature in Fatehpur was 19.8 degrees Celsius. Surprisingly, the daytime temperature in Churu was colder than Fatehpur, it was 18.3 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperatures recorded in Bhilwara were 1.8 degrees Celsius, 2.0 degrees Celsius in Sikar, and 2.7 degrees in Pilani, the minimum temperature in Bundi was 3.6, and 4 degree in Alwar, according to the MET department.

The weather department also issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for several parts of the desert state. The ‘Orange Alert’ for cold/ severe cold wave and dense fog has been issued for Alwar, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Churu, Hanumangarh, and Sri Ganganagar.

A new western disturbance is expected to affect the western Himalayan region beginning January 7, causing the temperature to drop even further, IMD predicted.
