€Rajasthan: Jaipur man, who chopped aunt’s body into pieces, sent to 3-day police remand
In the latest development in the heinous Jaipur murder case, police on December 20 produced accused Anuj Sharma, booked in the murder of his 64-year-old aunt and chopping her body into several pieces, in a city court and got his remand for three days, till December 23.
The 32-year-old man allegedly killed his aunt, chopped her body into pieces, and dumped them at different places near the Delhi highway.
“Accused Anuj Sharma has been sent to police remand till December 23,” said Vidhyadhar Nagar Police Station SHO Virendra Kuril, as quoted by ANI.
According to the police, Anuj registered a missing person report for his aunt on December 11. During the preliminary probe, cops found several contradictions in Anuj’s statements.
During a detailed inquiry, Anuj admitted that he murdered his aunt using a hammer. To evade arrest, he dismembered her body with a knife and a marble cutter and dumped the pieces at different places near the Delhi highway.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
The case has similarities with Delhi’s Shraddha Walkar murder case, in which Aftab Amin Poonawalla was arrested by the police after a complaint by Shraddha’s father. Aaftab, who works at a call centre in Gurugram, confessed to strangling his live-in partner Shraddha Vikas Walkar, chopping her body into 35 pieces, storing them in a refrigerator (for three months) and dumping the body parts piece by piece in a forest near Chhattarpur and Qutub Minar.
