Rajasthan: Gangster Raju Thet shot dead during gang war in Sikar; Lawrence Bishnoi gang claims responsibility

Two gangsters were killed in a gun fight between two notorious gangs in Rajasthan's Sikar on December 3. According to the police, one of those killed in the gang war was a criminal named Raju Thet, a member of the Veer Taj Sena gang.

The Lawrence Bishnoi group has taken the responsibility of Thet’s murder. On Facebook, a user by the name of Rohit Godara claimed responsibility of Raju Thet’s murder, ANI reported.

Following Thet's death, his supporters announced a ‘shutdown’ and demanded stringent action against the killers. The supporters said they will not allow Thet's body to be taken for the post-mortem until action against killers.

"A man called Raju Thet, who has been involved in crime for a long time, sustained bullet injuries. As per the latest info available to me, he died. As per our info and available CCTV footage, four people were involved in the firing," Kunwar Rastradeep, Sikar SP said.

As per Sikar SP Kunwar Rastradeep, another person, who got killed in the gang war, identified as Tarachand Jaat.

"Another man, Tarachand Jaat who had sustained bullet injuries in the shootout by criminal has succumbed to his injuries. He had come to meet his daughter who is residing in a hostel near the crime spot," Sikar SP said.

With the aid of CCTV footage, the police claimed to have identified some criminals. "Our teams are after them, it's suspected that the accused headed towards Haryana border. Revelations will be made when they're nabbed. This is basically a result of gangwar," Rajasthan DGP Umesh Mishra told ANI.

As per Rohit Godara’s Facebook post, the attackers took revenge for the murder of gangsters Anandpal and Balbir Banuda. The user wrote, "I take the responsibility of the murder, the revenge is complete..."

Notably, the Anand Pal gang have joined the Lawrence Bishnoi gang after their leader Anand Pal was killed in a police encounter, and both gangs were involved in the incident.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said that the state government will take all possible steps and put these gangsters behind bars.
