Rajasthan: 5 women arrested for throwing spit bags in residential areas
There is no shortage of mischief mongers even in times of cataclysms such as coronavirus outbreak. In a shameful incident, five women were caught throwing bags full of spit into a residential area in the midst of the scare over coronavirus.
The incident happened in the Vallabhvadi area which comes under Gumanpura police station limits in the Kota district.
As per a report in TOI, police have now taken all the five women into custody. The matter surfaced after the accused were caught on CCTV. The women have been sent to Bundi Jail.
The incident became the cause of panic among residents in the thick of coronavirus outbreak. The government has put in place a ban on spitting at public spaces keeping in mind the coronavirus pandemic.
As maintained by police, the women admitted to trrowing spit bags into houses after they were denied donations. But the women have refused of spreading coronavirus infection.
"After carrying out an intensive scanning of the CCTV footage, we formed a team to trace the accused women," said Gaurav Yadav, Kota SP.
The women were taken into custody on Monday from a slum in Kunhari. The women beg for a living. The accused have been indentified as Mala Bawari (30), Dulari Bawari (65), Asha Bawari (35) and Chanda Bawari (20), all from Bapu Kacchi Basti.
All of them have been sent to 14 day judicial custody, following the incident, the municipal authorities conducted a sanitisation drive in the Vallabhvadi area as a preventative measure.
