Rajasansi blast: Massive blast near Nirankari Bhawan Amritsar's Rajasansi village; atleast 3 died, several injured
In a massive bomb blast at Nirankari Bhawan in Amritsar's Rajasansi village, at least three people have been killed and 10 others have been injured. The area was under red-alert following the intelligence inputs on terrorist activity in the region.
"Out of 250 people who were present in the religious congregation, 3 dead & 15-20 injured. As per initial reports, 2 people had come over here who knocked a grenade here," IG (Border) Surinder Pal Singh Parmar said.
Every Sunday morning, a meeting is organized at Nirankari Bhawan in Rajasansi village. It is said that the blast happened around 12 o'clock. The blast happened when Satsanga was going in Nirankari Bhawan. It is being told that a large number of devotees were present in satsang.
Meanwhile, two youths threw bombs on the platform. Two people died on the spot and more than 15 people were injured. The condition of four of the injured is being reported seriously. The injured have been admitted to the civil hospital.
Earlier on November 16, Amritsar was in high alert after reports of dreaded terrorist Zakir Musa being spotted in the city emerged. Security was heightened across the state after intelligence inputs revealed that Zakir Musa, a former Hizbul Mujahideen commander and slain terrorist Burhan Wani's successor, could be hiding in Punjab.
