‘Rahul, Priyanka played with snow in Srinagar but forgot to thank PM Modi’: Anurag Thakur
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on January 30 took a jibe at Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi over the ‘snowball fight’ between the siblings in Srinagar during the culmination event of Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Thakur stated that Rahul and Priyanka should Prime Minister Narendra Modi for abrogating article 370 and 35A, allowing them to play with snowballs in Srinagar without fear of terrorism and separatism.
“You saw Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi playing with snowballs in Srinagar, but they forgot to thank PM Modi who abrogated Article 370 and 35A. After 2014, the situation in Kashmir changed completely. Now there is peace & tourism has also increased,” Anurag Thakur said.
The Union Minister also added that the situation in Kashmir has completely changed after the abrogation of article 370 and 35A, with peaceful living and thriving tourism.
“This is because PM Modi took steps for the betterment of the people of Jammu & Kashmir,” he added.
Slamming the Congress party’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, Thakur said that people who want to break India were seen in the Yatra.
“In Bharat Jodo Yatra, people who worked to break India were seen instead of people who united India. They should answer what Congress wants to do with such people,” Thakur said.
Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi - the brother-sister duo – hared some fun and light moments with a snowball fight in Srinagar during the closing ceremony of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. The grand old party conducted its closing ceremony of the 4,080 km foot march by hoisting the national flag at its headquarters in Srinagar.
The ceremony was followed by a rally led by Rahul at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium where several opposition leaders joined the Congress leaders to mark the grand culmination of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. The opposition leaders were from DMK, National Conference, PDP, CPI, RSP, and IUML.
