Congress President Rahul Gandhi taking a dig at BJP chief Amit Shah has tweeted and congratulated him, as how Mr Shah has smartly played the card. Referring to an RTI report Rahul Gandhi attacked Shah for converting huge amount of banned notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 during Demonetisation in Ahmedabad district Cooperative Bank of which he is a director.
Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Congratulations Amit Shah ji, Director, Ahmedabad Dist. Cooperative Bank, on your bank winning 1st prize in the conversion of old notes to a new race. 750 Cr in 5 days! Millions of Indians whose lives were destroyed by Demonetisation, salute your achievement.”
Actually, according to Right to Information or RTI report, it has been revealed that the bank, of which Amit Shah has been the director that is Ahmedabad district cooperative bank, it had collected banned notes of 500 and 1000 rupees during the demonetisation. According to the bank's website, Amit Shah was the director of the bank. He has also been the president of the bank in the year 2000.
This information has been received by a Mumbai-based RTI activist. According to the information, Ahmedabad District Co-operative Bank (ADCB) had deposited banned notes worth Rs 745.59 crore within five days of a declaration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the RTI, the ADCB had deposited a total of Rs 5,050 crore on March 31, 2017, and the net profit of the bank was 14.31 crore in the financial year 2017-18.
Speaking on the matter, the Congress has attacked Amit Shah over this issues. Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has said that there has been a big scandal in the ban on bondage. Its evidence is coming out. During note-taking, notes of 500 and 1000 rupees have been deposited during the note-taking in the co-operative banks of the country.
Surajwala also said that in the Ahmedabad district co-operative bank, about 745 crore rupees were deposited in the first five days. The names of many BJP leaders are coming out relating to the bank. These are leaders who are close to Amit Shah. All of these are somehow connected with the bank.
