Congress president Rahul Gandhi and sister Priyanka Gandhi on Sunday took swipe at the Prime Minister Narendra Mod, saying “the battle is over. Your Karma awaits you.” The attack comes a day after PM termed late PM Rajiv Gandhi as ‘corrupt’ number 1. Attacking Congress over defence deal under UPA rule, PM Modi had said that former PM Rajiv Gandhi, was ‘Bhrashtachari No. 1 (corrupt number 1)’.
Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to slam PM Modi for his remark and tweeted a hug too. "Modi Ji, The battle is over. Your Karma awaits you. Projecting your inner beliefs about yourself onto my father won't protect you. All my love and a huge hug. Rahul," read the tweet from the Congress chief Twitter handle.
While Priyanka Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi’s daughter and Congress General Secretary for east UP said that the remark was reflective of the PM’s “uncontrolled insanity”. She also said that he has insulted the martyrdom of Rajiv Gandhi.
"The prime minister, who is seeking votes in the name of martyrs, yesterday disrespected the martyrdom of a nobleman. People in Amethi will give a befitting reply... Rajiv Gandhi gave his life for the people of Amethi. Yes Modi ji, this nation never forgives deception," her tweet in Hindi read.
On Saturday, PM Modi attack Rahul Gandhi dragging late Rajiv Gandhi saying that his father was termed “Mr Clean by his courtiers, but his life ended as ''Bhrashtachari No 1'' (corrupt number 1)". In his speech, PM Modi was referring to the Bofors scams.
