PM Modi wears sky blue jacket made of recycled plastic bottles in Parliament
Prime Minister Narendra Modi uses every platform to raise awareness about climate change and he has always been at the forefront of making the fight against it a people's movement.
Not only does he convey his message through speeches, but also through gestures, such as plogging at a beach in Mahabalipuram in 2019 or picking up a broom and sweeping the streets
Today, Prime Minister Modi wore a blue jacket in the Lok Sabha that carried a message. The jacket, sky blue in color, was made from recycled plastic bottles. He chose to wear it while delivering a Motion of Thanks to the President's address in the Lok Sabha.
Notably, the jacket was gifted to PM Modi by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) at the India Energy Week in Bengaluru. The IOC will recycle over 10 crore plastic bottles to make sustainable garments for IOC employees and armed forces.
The Central Government has recently launched the National Green Hydrogen Mission in order to reduce the dependency on fossil fuel imports and also make the country adopt technology and market leadership in this sector. The move also facilitates the transition of the economy to low carbon intensity. The government is going to spend Rs 19,700 crore for the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
Recently, in the Budget 2023 speech, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman provided an outlay of Rs 35,000 crore to achieve energy transition and net zero objectives and listed green growth among seven priorities of the government.
