PM Modi to celebrate his 68th birthday in his parliamentary constituency at Varanasi; likely to announce several development projects

As the general elections are going to be held in the next year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will celebrate his 68th birthday at Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh, on Monday.

This has come to light after district authorities sent a tentative schedule to the Prime Minister’s Office. Modi will also perform a prayer to Lord Shiva at the Kashi Vishwanath temple and then he along with a few school students will watch ‘Chalo Jeete Hain’, a film based on his life on the occasion.

This 32-minute film, incidentally, is at the heart of much controversy as Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam called PM Modi ‘illiterate’ and criticized the Maharashtra government’s decision show it at schools across the state.

During his visit to Varansi, the Prime Minister is also likely to launch several development projects that includes the expansion of the Babatpur-Shivpur road, Ringh Road phase I and some of the projects at Banaras Hindu University. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the temple town on Wednesday to take stock of security arrangements for PM Modi’s visit.

On his last birthday, Modi had gone to meet his 98-year-old mother, Hiraba, based on the outskirts of Gujarat’s Gandhinagar and then went to inaugurate the Sardar Sarovar Dam. On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party celebrated the day by observing ‘Seva Diwas’ across the country. Some of the party leaders participated in medical camps, blood donation events and cleanliness drives.

Prime Minister was born on September 17, 1950.
