PAN-Aadhaar link deadline: SBI, HDFC, other bank accounts may be inactive by 30th Sept, here's why
The State Bank of India (SBI) has put out a word to all its customers, urging them to link their PAN Card with their Aadhaar Card before 30th September.
India’s largest lender through a tweet wrote,"We advise our customers to link their PAN with Aadhaar to avoid any inconvenience and continue enjoying a seamless banking service."
Another PSU bank HDFC has also told its customers through SMS as regard to the PAN Aadhaar linking time limit that closes on 30th September.
The Government of India has prolonged the PAN-Aadhaar linking deadline to 30th September, 2021, from the prior deadline of 30th June, 2021. Before this, the centre has already stretched the time limit thrice. The frist deadline was 21st March, 2020, which was extended to 30th June 30, 2020, and then to 31st March 31, 2021.
The last time, the PAN-Aadhaar linking deadline was stretched to 30th June, 2021. However, the new deadline is 30th September, 2021.
Permanent Account Number or the PAN is a ten-digit unique alphanumeric number given by the Income Tax Department. PAN card is an imperative financial document.
