Odisha: Man pours kerosene on wife after argument over his extramarital affair

A horrifying incident came to light from Odisha where a man tried to took the life of his wife after setting her on fire.

The appalling case took place in the New Market area of the Jaipur district of Odisha on Thursday.

According to the reports in PTI, the couple was involved in the arguments as the woman came to know about the extramarital affairs of her husband. Hence, she objected against the relationship which later turned into a serious angle and husband poured kerosene on his wife to end her life.

The woman has suffered 80 percent serious burn injuries and is undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Meanwhile, Police have lodged a complaint against the man.

Police found in an investigation that the man poured kerosene on his wife after a squabble between the two. The couple had a dispute over the man’s illicit affair with a woman in the locality.

According to the Police, the man used to torture the woman both mentally and physically.

After the husband sets his wife on fire, the local responded immediately to help the woman as she screamed for help. Locals also informed the police about the incident.

The victim was referred to Cuttack after her condition got unstable. Meanwhile, the accused is still at large and Police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused, also they have started a probe into the matter.
