Noida Metro: Noida Metro's Aqua line fares announced; know the inauguration details here
A meeting of the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) officials was held on Friday where the pricing details and the inauguration date was discussed for the upcoming Aqua Line, connecting Noida- Greater Noida.
The commuters will have to pay the minimum fare of Rs 9 and the maximum fare is set at Rs 50, as compared to the Delhi Metro, where the minimum fare is Rs 10 and the maximum fare goes up to Rs 60.
The fares are cheaper and economical than Delhi metro and passengers can use their smart cards or buy QR-coded paper tickets to travel from Noida to Greater Noida. As in the Delhi Metro, passengers will receive a discount of 10% in Aqua Metro if they use smart card services.
NMRC’s Executive Director P D Upadhyaya has said, “All stations are ready for commercial operations. During the first year, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will operate and maintain the Aqua Line.”
The Aqua Line is set to run between Sector 71 in Noida to the Depot station in Greater Noida. With a total of 21 stations in the entire corridor, 15 stations are in Noida and 6 are in Greater Noida.
The inauguration date of the metro line has not been released officially but as per the sources, January 20 or 21 has been decided by the government.
Upadhyaya further said, “In line with this, three new routes have also been added between Greater Noida West to the Sector 51 metro station and the City Centre metro station. Similarly, feeder buses have been started from metro stations to the residential societies in Sector 50, 51 and 76 and nearby areas.”
We must have seen the Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) at the metro stations in Delhi, but here in Aqua Metro, it will be the UP PAC (Provincial Armed Contabulary) who are being trained by the CISF.
