Noida Metro Aqua Line inaugration: CM Yogi Adityanath to launch Aqua line metro today; here are things you should know
After a long wait, Noida Metro’s Aqua line is all set to kick start fromn Friday. The Noida’s new metro line ‘Aqua’ will be inaugrated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today afternoon. The Aqua line will connect Noida with the Greater Noida.
At 29.7 kilometres, this line will be the longest Metro corridor in the country to be inaugurated at one go. At 29km, the Hyderabad Metro held the earlier record, officials said.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to arrive in Noida’s Sector 84 in a helicopter from where he will proceed to open the line from Sector 137 station. From there, he will take a Metro ride to the terminal station in Greater Noida.
“There are several other specialties to this line. We are generating solar energy, have women drivers, and there are free water and toilet facilities for people,” PD Upadhyay, executive director, Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), said.
Here are important things you need to know about the “Aqua Line Metro’
* Aqua Line Metro would run from Sector 51 in Noida to the Depot Station in Greater Noida.
* The rail corridor 29.7-km long has a total of 21 stations, of which 15 of them are in Noida and six in Greater Noida.
* The Aqua Line will have 19 rakes with 4 cars each, will stops at Sectors 76, 101, 81, NSEZ, 83, 137, 142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148 and Greater Noida's Knowledge Park II, Pari Chowk, Alpha 1, Delta 1, GNIDA Office and Depot metro stations.
*Fares: the Aqua Metro Line’s fare is minimum of Rs 9 and the maximum Rs 50. Commuters can buy QR-coded paper tickets or use smart cards.
Important: Delhi Metro cards won’t apply
*Commuter need to purchase new mobility for Rs 300. Delhi Metro’s token and smart cards will not be valid.
