Nirbhaya Case: Convict Akshay Kumar files yet another mercy petition with President, just 3 days before execution
Nirbhaya gang rape and murder convict Akshay Kumar has yet again broach the matter to President Ram Nath Kovind just three days leading up to the execution.
The guilty Akshay who is facing the gallows has again filed a mercy petition before the President.
Previously, President Ram Nath Kovind had turned down the mercy plea of Akshay Kumar.
As maintained by news agency ANI, Akshay has filed a new mercy plea, in which he claimed that the mercy petition filed earlier did not consist of all the facts.
A death warrent has been issued to execute Nirbhara’s convicts at 3 am on 3rd March.
This order was issued bt the Additional Sessions Judge Dharmendra Rana of the Patiala House Court on a plea holding out for the issuance of a new death warrent.
The trial court on 17th February furnished fresh date for execution of death warrent for 3rd March for four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case.
The mercy plea of three convicts—Mukesh, Vinay and Akshay have already been rejected by the President.
The Supreme Court had earlier turned down separate plea filed by Mukesh and Vinay challenging the dismissal of their mercy pleas by the President.
