After a shocking sex scandal come to light in Muzaffarpur’s shelter home, now, Bihar social welfare minister Kumari Manju Verma has resigned from her post on Wednesday amid allegations have been made on her husband. There were the reports that Manju’s husband Chandeshwar Verma had linked with the main accused who involved in the sexual abuse scandal inside the government-funded shelter home in Muzaffarpur.
However, Manju resignation letter has been faxed immediately to the governor Satya Pal Malik, who is reportedly in Delhi for official aware of the development, said reports.
However, this resignation has been submitted after the main accused Brajesh Thakur said outside a Muzaffarpur court that he had no connection with Bihar minister Verma’s husband in this regard. But, he added that he used to talk him over political and other issues.
Earlier on Wednesday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called Manju Verma for a meeting. Finally, after a 30 minutes conversation between the two ministers, she submitted her resignation.
However, Manju kept saying that her husband is innocent and defending her from all the allegations that have been imposed on him.
She also told to reporters that why she had resigned? She said that ‘I resigned on moral grounds after a media reports of call details revealed that my husband has spoken to the accused Brajesh Thakur for 17 times.’
Further, she called it a planned conspiracy to target her husband in the case.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of India also asked the Bihar government on Tuesday that why there had been no inspection made of shelter homes to prevent sexual abuses against girls.
In the Muzaffarpur horror house, there were over 30 girls rescued from the shelter home where they have been tortured, raped and sexually abused for several months.
