Mumbai Kamala Mills fire: Meet brave Sudarshan Shinde who saved many lives
In the tragic incident that happened in Mumbai's Kamala Mills, many people lost their lives in the blaze that occurred in midnight and killed 14 people. The fire was so horrible that many people were badly wounded. But there is one picture of constable Sudarshan Shinde which is winning hearts of the people on social media.
According to the media reports, as soon as the information was received, the personnel of the Worli police station reached the spot before the fire brigade. Out of these, Sudarshan Shinde, the youngest person, carried the corpses without stretching the bodies.
During the rescue work, someone shot the picture of Sudarshan and posted on social media that later went viral. Seeing his bravery, the Mayor of Mumbai also honored him.
Police constable Sudarshan said that as soon as the police got the news of the fire, they reached the spot. They had arrived before the fire brigade. They went straight up and started removing people. There was a fire everywhere in the pub.
Sudarshan Shinde said that “When I reached upstairs, everything was burnt and charred. When I reached down, I could hear exploding sounds. Which I feel were of alcohol bottles and gas cylinders. There were several hookahs that added to the intensity of the flames. I could see only one woman coughing. The rest, I believe, may have died of suffocation.”
The fire broke out on the night of December 28 in the Pub located at Kamala Mills Compound. Due to the roof top bar, people could not escape from there. 14 people were killed in the accident in which were 11 girls.
