Mumbai Hospital Fire: Massive fire breaks out at ESIC Kamgar Hospital in Andheri again after 2 days; rescue underway
Two days after, a massive fire breaks out again at ESIC Kamgar hospital in Mumbai's Andheri on Wednesday evening after a blaze erupted at the same hospital. Firefighting engines reached the spot, rescue operation underway.
On Monday, the fire had erupted at the ESIC Kamgar hospital at Marol following which the death toll had risen to nine on Wednesday. A total of 175 injured people are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the city.
According to TimesNow report, It was revealed that the 325-bed hospital did not have the Occupation Certificate (OC) from the fire department. Around 375 people, including patients and visitors, were in the five-storey hospital when the fire erupted.
As per reports, a short-circuit near the rubber rolls stored on the ground floor led to the fire. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had yesterday ordered a probe. The Union Labour Ministry had announced compensation for the victims.
