In a shocking event, a 20-year-old Mumbai girl was stabbed to death by a jilted lover in broad daylight at the Eastern Express Highway (EEH) on Saturday morning. The incident reportedly took place near the Regional Transport Office (RTO), where 25-year-old Akash Pawar, the accused stabbed Prachi Zade, the victim to death after demanding an answer to his proposal.
As per reports, the victim denied to the accused proposal, he stabbed her multiple times and escape the spot. Before stabbing, he also threatened her that if she was not going to be his, he won’t let her with anyone else. She was left bleeding on the roadside, while onlookers were busy filming the incident.
Two onlookers, who were the only to take her to the hospital narrated the entire incident to the police. She was then taken to Thane Civil Hospital.
Deputy commissioner of police D Swami said, “We came to know that the girl is dead and we immediately formed a team to nab the accused and found that Pawar is involved in this incident.”
According to the police, Pawar, a college dropout, had been waiting for Zade since 8 am at Kopri Bridge. After she left her home at 10:50 am, Pawar followed Zade on his two-wheeler for approximately a kilometre before stopping her. Swami said, “Pawar was carrying two knives – one in the back seat of his two-wheeler and another in his pocket. Pawar pulled out the knife from his pocket and attacked and stabbed Zade many times.”
