Mukesh Ambani supports Congress, says, 'Milind Deora is the man for South Mumbai'
As the voting for second phase is underway, political parties are leaving no stone unturned in their campaigning process and the Congress party has received support from India’s richest man and businessman Mukesh Ambani for the South Mumbai polls.
In a prestige battle being played out in South Mumbai, Congress candidate Milind Deora has received support from the chairman of Reliance Industries Limited which Milind shared in a post on Twitter.
While Deora posted a video of 2 minute and 17 seconds, it included several people from different background including shopkeepers, businessmen, residents and displayed their support for Deora from the South Mumbai seat.
“Milind is the man for South Mumbai,’ said Mukesh Ambani, adding that “Having represented South Bombay for 10 years, I believe that Milind has in-depth knowledge of the social, economic and cultural ecosystem of the South Bombay constituency.”
While tweeting out the video, Maharashtra Congress chief Milind Deora said, “From small shopkeepers to large industrialists - for everyone, South Mumbai means business. We need to bring businesses back to Mumbai and make job creation for our youth a top priority #MumbaiKaConnection”
Milind Deora is contesting against Shiv Sena’s member of parliament Arvind Sawant for the seat and the election will be held on April 29. With 48 seats in its pocket, Maharashtra sends second highest MP’s from India after UP, which holds 80 seats.
BJP has tied up with Shiv Sena and the Congress is up with Nationalist Congress Party for the 2019 polls.
