MP Shocker: Woman shot dead by stalker in broad daylight

In a shocking incident, a woman was shot dead by a man in broad daylight in a residential area of Madhya Pradesh's Dhar city on April 26. The deceased, identified as Pooja, was only 22 years old and was working at a restaurant.

She was survived by her mother and two sisters and lived in the Brahmakund area.

According to the police, the accused, Deepak Rathore, had been harassing Pooja for years and was pursuing her for marriage, which she had repeatedly turned down.

The incident took place when Pooja was on her way to work, and Deepak confronted her and opened fire. She died on the spot. Witnesses informed the police, and a manhunt was launched to arrest the accused.

Police stated that Pooja had also filed a complaint against Deepak in court, on which he threatened her family members.

Later in the day of the incident, police tracked Deepak at his house in Brahmakund. When police officials reached the house, he opened fire at them, injuring a cop.

In the return fire, Rathore sustained a bullet injury in the leg and is now under police custody.

The municipal authorities also took action and demolished the accused’s house, which they said was an illegal encroachment on public land.

The killing has sparked outrage in the community, with people demanding justice for the deceased and strict punishment for Rathore.

Further investigation is underway.
