The Indian cricket team continues to dominate in Test cricket as they sailed past South Africa in Vizag, the men in blue took a 1-0 lead in the three match Test series as they beat South Africa by 203 runs. Indian pacer Mohammad Shami was under the spot light as he claimed five wickets in the fourth innings to restrict the Proteas for just 191 runs.
Along with his five wicket haul, the 29 year old also managed to install himself into an elite list of Indian fast bowlers to get five wickets in the second innings at home soil. Indian legends like Kapil dev and Javagal Srinath are also the member of the list.
Mohammad Shami scalped the wickets of skipper Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, Dane Piedt, Temba Bavuma before closing the lid for India with the wicket of Kagiso Rabada. South Africa was chasing a colossal total of 395 runs but were bundled out by Indian bowling unit in the fourth innings.
The Indian pacer also went on to become the only bowler to have three or more five wicket spell since 2018.
On Saturday, team India declared their second innings at 323/4 in 67 overs after Rohit Sharma scored another hundred to become the only player in history to score a century in both innings.
