Maratha Reservation: Police register two cases against 4000-5000 agitators for violence; Section 144 imposed in Pune’s Chakan
The Maratha Reservation protests have taken its ugly turn in Pune's Chakan area on Monday as the agitators have turned violent, torched 5 buses and at least 50 vehicles destroyed. The protestors have destructed public property in Pune in Pimpri's Chakan area. Following the situation in the Pune's Chakan area, Section 144 has been imposed in the area by the Pune rural police.
The Pune Police have registered two cases against 4000-5000 agitators for violence that broke out during protests over Maratha Reservation in Chakan area on Monday.
Even one person has committed suicide by jumping in front of the running train. Reports emerged of another Maratha youth, have committed suicide in Maharashtra's Aurangabad, demanding reservation for the Maratha community.
Following the row, the Maratha community is all set to go on a protest and call for a 'jail bharo Andolan' from August 1, 2018. The protest will be done at the Azad Maidan in Mumbai. Maratha Kranti Morcha released a press statement today in which the details of the protest were revealed.
In Pune’s Chakan area and its nearby area like Osmanabad, Solapur, Kolhapur, Nandurbar and Aurangabad, here some sporadic incidents of aggravation, violence, road blocking like incidents news have come to light. However, section 144 has been imposed in many Police station areas.
Reportedly, the Marathas 'Shinde' have decided to protest against Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for not withdrawing cases against Maratha protesters. CM Fadnavis had claimed that the cases will be taken back but did not give out any written order regarding the matter.
Well, The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has suspended the bus services in Solapur, in wake of the bandh in Solapur district called by Maratha Kranti Morcha.
