Man who killed wife in Mumbai arrested in Rajasthan
The Mumbai Police have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the murder of his 40-year-old wife in the Nalasopara area. According to the police, Hardik Shah fled to Rajasthan after strangling his wife Megha to death in an attempt to evade arrest.
The incident came to light on February 13 when residents of Sheeta Sadan in Nalasopara (east) complained of a foul smell emanating from a second-floor flat. Upon forcing open the door, the police discovered Megha's decomposed body in a room.
The victim was identified after the owner of the flat shared the rent agreement copy with the police. Preliminary investigation revealed that the flat was rented by the couple over two weeks ago.
Since Hardik was missing, he became the prime suspect. The police tracked him down in Rajasthan.
The police have sent the body for the postmortem.
The reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
