The incidents of smoking in flights are now getting more often as recently, a man was apprehended by the police for smoking inside the toilet.

Actually, a foul odour of cigarette started coming out of the toilet and the cabin crew immediately came in action and had questioned the man thereafter. The flight 6E-947 had flown from Ahmedabad.
As per the rules laid down by the Civil Aviation in India, smoking is not allowed in the domestic flight’s as per the safety rules.
The cabin crew had then informed the captain and also briefed the man, who was held later by the police after the FIR was registered, about the safety rules in the plane.
Although, it is significant to note that smoking rooms are available at most of the airports and it is legal to smoke there.
As soon as the flight landed in Goa, th eloacl police was informed about the incident and thereafter, a preliminary FIR was registered against the man, who was then handed over to the Central Industrial Security Forces.
Earlier, a Vistara flight had to face an inadvertent delay when a fellow passenger demanded to smoke inside the cabin of the flight. It has become a regular deal for the flights to face such incidents but awareness must be made by the Airport Authorities itself.
