Lok Sabha 2019: Left front to launch poll campaign today, Kanhaiya Kumar in attendance as hopes of 3rd front rises

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections of 2019, the Left front will launch its poll campaign today in West Bengal and target the ruling BJP across the country with their “people’s brigade.”

The campaign will be launched at the same venue where a couple of days back, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had organized a mega Opposition rally, which attracted more than 25 leaders fro across the state, who have objections over the BJP’s dictatorial rule.

As per sources, lakhs of people would be attending this rally and ex-JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar, who is also facing sedition charges would be attending the event and on social media, they have advertised extensively wherein the huge demand has been that former CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee would address the rally.

The Left is trying to be relevant in the times when the entire world is swinging towards the right-wing leaders and parties, including the US, Europe and India. Left parties have been decimated across its own bastion, when CM Manik Sarkar lost Tripura to the BJP and the Left was parted at 3rd in West Bengal.

Although, the only state where CPM still holds its existence is the Kerala but even the Sabarimala issue has taken a toll over state government and the RSS-BJP has been clamping to garner the sympathy votes by polarizing the environment.

‘The ruling CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala in December last year bagged 21 of 39 seats in bypolls to the local bodies.’ It would be seen how the Grand Alliance reacts to the Left and it’s agendas.
