Loan waiver politics returns as Mayawati claims govt should provide 100% waiver to farmers, 'BJP afraid of our alliance'

BSP chief Mayawati, who has recently announced alliance with Samajwadi Party has stated that the government needs to provide 100% farm loan waiver to the farmers.

Mayawati, who turns 63 today, held a press conference where she has stated that everyone needs to work in favor of the poor and the downtrodden and we need to continue to fight for the poor.

The alliance of the SP-BSP is being seen as a political gamble being played out by the two regional parties ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

Mayawati, in the press conference, said “We have always worked for the poor and the down trodden. The government should give 100% farm loan waiver else farmer suicides will continue. A strong farm loan waiver policy should be made.”

Mayawati took jibe at the BJP saying that the party is afraid of the SP-BSP alliance and PM Modi is doing back to back rallies and claiming false things. She said that ‘BJP needs to change its approach towards backward people.’

Posters of Dimple Yadav and Mayawati have come up in Lucknow as the sign of women empowerment is now getting targeted with many others claiming that their alliance is an opportunistic one.

Mayawati leveled charges against the BJP stating that the Centers policies are against farmers and Yogi Adityanath is rallying against the Muslims and the backward castes.

Although, Home Minister Rajnath Singh stated upon the SP-BSP, saying that “Have they forgotten what happened in 2017 elections? They can form as many alliances as they want, but BJP will not win less than 72 out of 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh.”
